Television sets need something to connect the tv to the channels. While the most common would be an aerial antenna, there are others that use cable or satellite connection. Before all these, there were only the rabbit antennas. They are the indoor tv antennas that are usually placed on top of the tv itself and the ears turned accordingly to find the clearest signal of the most common channels in the locality.

An aerial antenna needs someone to install it on the rooftop, usually by the household owner or you can request an abled person to do it. Without one, then you can just do with the rabbit version. If you are not a tv addict, it will do.

It amazes me how in other countries, there are women truck drivers. To tell you frankly, I would never dream to be one simply because my sense of direction is so poor. I am a total failure when it comes to directions especially when I am far from my comfort zone.

If I were to become a driver, I would probably need a trucking gps system just to make sure I wouldn’t get lost on the road. It’s a good thing innovations in technology has paved the way for these tiny handheld devices to be made available to the public. It surely makes life easier for those who depend on the road a lot.

Truck drivers and car owners are not the only ones who benefit from GPS systems. Even golfers, pilots and trail hikers have their own special GPS devices made specially with their needs and interests in mind.

Going to a gadgets store can be exciting and at the same time exhilarating. Usually, these stores have an expansive area and when you go inside, you feel like being enveloped with so many products on display. From floor to ceiling, gadgets and accessories abound! It is just overwhelming. Some of the high-tech trinkets that I saw are USB operated stuff like a usb barcode scanner, a relaxing water fountain, a cigarette lighter, and curious thumb drives. They are oh so lovely! These are not needs but sometimes it is hard to keep myself from buying such things for the sheer novelty of them! Remind me not to go back there again. LOL!

Life has really changed nowadays even on how ways people give gifts. Before, children are already satisfied with simple gifts of toys, clothes and every little thing that is available. But now, children’s wants have become more expensive and high-tech. My eldest daughter who is now 10 years old asked if she could get one of those cell phones with camera. She said that she wanted to take pictures of anything she likes and upload it to her blog. On the other hand, my seven year old son asked for an iPod. He said he wants to listen to music anytime.

As much as I wanted to give in to their Christmas wishes, I could not. Our finances right now are so tight that I have to settle with toys and new clothes. Maybe someday, when they get older and more responsible in handling such gadget, I might buy them but as of now, they are too young to get these gadgets.

Getting Connected

With all the technology that abounds, I am sure each of you has your preferred gadgets to carry to stay connected to the world. There are Blackberries, iPhones, voice and text phones and Smart Phones like HTC Desire 2.2. There are many mobile phones to choose from the many different brands we have in the market.

As for me, I am OK with anything that can call and text. It doesn’t matter what brand as long as I can do what mobile phones are for. Right now, I own an LG mobile phone. It was given to by my husband as his late birthday gift for me!

How about you? Do you prefer a brand? What are you using right now?

Digital Frames

When digital cameras were released, everyone was so happy about it. We could now take unlimited pictures depending on the memory storage of the digital camera. Now, the only problem is printing these images into tangible pictures. Aside from that, buying too many photo frames just to showcase their great pictures is also a problem.

So now, there is great news, you don’t need to print the pictures you have taken or place a lot of photo frames in your house. All you need is buy a digital frame and you can now display all the photos you want.

Digital frames are one of my few wants in life. I want to have a wall full of digital frames showcasing my children. I want at least three digital frames. This means I want one digital frame per each child. Isn’t that nice??

Bark Off Your Dogs

I really appreciate the fact that we have a pet dog at home. Every time our pet hears an unusual noise, she barks immediately and nonstop until we check it out and see if it’s safe or not. But sometimes, I wished that our dog stops barking when she sees the ugly cat from our neighbor. Well, she has nothing against cats if they are our pet but if it belongs to others, she barks at them hysterically as if she saw some big time intruder!

Speaking about stopping the dog from barking, I saw a video at YouTube about bark off. They say bark off can help you control your dogs barking without hurting them. You can use bark off when you are having guests over or just want some peace and quiet. You can turn it off if you want your dog to be actively guarding your house.
